Executive Vice President of the Supreme People 's Court visits New Zealand

    On 7-10 May, Mr. Shen Deyong, Executive Vice President of the Supreme People's Court, led a delegation and paid a visit to New Zealand. Ambassador Wang Lutong met with the delegation and extended his warm welcome. Ambassador Wang believes that the delegation's visit will further promote judiciary exchanges between China and New Zealand to enhance mutual understanding and advance bilateral cooperation in this regard. Mr. Shen briefed Ambassador Wang on the purpose of the visit and the ideas for the promotion of judicial cooperation between the two countries.

    During the visit, Ambassador Wang accompanied the delegation in their meeting with Christopher Finlayson, Attorney-General of New Zealand, and their talks with Supreme Court Justice William Young. The two sides briefed each other on their respective legal systems and related work, exchanged views on a number of topics and reached important consensus on further advancing judicial exchanges and cooperation between the two countries. The delegation also held talks with the Crown Law Office and Auckland High Court respectively.
