Ambassador Wu Xi meets with New Zealand's Ethnic Communities Minister Jenny Salesa

On August 8, 2018, Ambassador Wu Xi met with New Zealand’s Ethnic Communities Minister and Associate Minister of Health, The Hon Jenny Salesa. The two sides exchanged views on a range of issues, including China-New Zealand relations and cultural exchanges between the two countries.

Ambassador Wu noted that China-New Zealand relations are progressing smoothly, with increasing cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, science and technology, education and culture. China values the relationship with New Zealand and stands ready to strengthen cooperation with New Zealand in all areas, including cultural exchanges, to enhance mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples for their mutual benefit.

The Hon Jenny Salesa noted that New Zealand attaches importance to developing relations with China. She is pleased with the cooperative achievements in all fields between the two countries. New Zealand would like to work with China to further advance bilateral relations by enhancing cultural exchanges, promoting Chinese language teaching in New Zealand and exploring cooperative opportunities in community elderly care service.
