Ambassador Wang Lutong accompanies Vice-Governor Huang Shiyong attending meetings with New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade

On September 20, Ambassador Wang Lutong accompanied the delegation headed by Huang Shiyong, Vice-Governor of the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, to pay a courtesy call on Andrea Smith, Deputy Secretary of New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT). Ambassador Wang and the Chinese delegation also met with MFAT special adviser on China affairs, Ms. Rebecca Needham. Present at the meeting was the Chinese Embassy's Economic and Commercial Counsellor Zhang Fan. 

Vice-Governor Huang Shiyong briefed the New Zealand side on the general economic development of Guangxi, reviewed the history of cooperation between Guangxi and New Zealand in the fields of agriculture, tourism and environmental protection, and proposed specific recommendations for further advancing bilateral exchanges. Vice-Governor Huang also introduced the China - ASEAN Expo and hoped that New Zealand could actively participate in the event.

Ms. Rebecca Needham noted that New Zealand is willing to strengthen pragmatic cooperation with China in a wide range of areas including economy, trade and tourism. Ms. Rebecca Needham also expressed the willingness to engage in the promotion of China - ASEAN Expo in New Zealand government.
