Ambassador Wang Lutong Meets with New Zealand's Minister for Ethnic Communities, Peseta Sam Lotu-Iiga

         On August 17, Ambassador Wang Lutong met with New Zealand’s Minister for Ethnic Communities, Peseta Sam Lotu-Iiga. The two sides exchanged views on the deepening of bilateral exchanges and cooperation in the field of ethnic affairs. Ambassador Wang noted that the overseas Chinese community, being an important part of New Zealand’s plural society, has made significant contributions to New Zealand’s development and the practical cooperation between China and New Zealand. China is committed to promoting communications and exchanges between the two peoples, and is willing to join hands with New Zealand to build a solid foundation of friendship to further advance the strategic partnership between the two countries.

         Minister Lotu-Iiga noted that the New Zealand’s Chinese community is actively integrating into the New Zealand society and is playing a unique role in various sectors. Minister Lotu-Iiga hopes China and New Zealand can continue to work together to promote non-governmental exchanges, deepen mutual understanding and infuse more impetus for the development of China – New Zealand relations.
