Dr Sun Zhigang, Vice Minister of the National Health and Family Planning Commission of China leads a delegation to New Zealand

On 10 -11 April, at the invitation of the New Zealand Ministry of Health, Dr Sun Zhigang, Chairman of the State Council Office for Healthcare Reform and Vice Minister of the National Health and Family Planning Commission of the PRC,led a delegation to visit the New Zealand Ministry of Health and local health authorities (Pegasus Health). During the visit, Vice Minister Sun Zhigang met with the Associate Health Minister Peter Dunne and Acting Director-General Teresa Wall and exchanged views on strengthening China/NZ cooperation in the health sector. Vice Minister Sun and his team learnt about the New Zealand Medicines Management's (PHARMAC) and Medical Safety Authority's (Medsafe) policies and practice with regard to pharmaceutical budgets, list of medicines, medicine procurement and medicine use. The Chinese delegation also exchanged in-depth views on relevant issues with New Zealand interlocutors. Mr Wang Lutong, Chinese Ambassador to New Zealand participated in the main activities.
