Chinese Embassy in New Zealand issued the first ordinary Biometric passport

Starting from May 2014, the ordinary Biometric passport can be applied at the Chinese Embassy in New Zealand for Chinese nationals in New Zealand. On 29th May, Political Counsellor Fang Qiu issued the first Biometric passport to applicant at the Consular Office of the Chinese Embassy.

Biometric Passport is a new, micro-chipped ordinary passport which contains digitized data of the bearer's fingerprint and signature, in addition to the bearer's name, birth date and portrait photo. The newly installed biometric microchip is an update to the Chinese passport in terms of credibility and security.
