On 10th May, Political Counsellor Fang Qiu and consular officials of the Chinese Embassy visited Tanaraki region to carry out research on overseas Chinese nationals and compatriots and provide consular service. The visit was welcomed by local overseas Chinese and Chinese community.

Counsellor Fang expressed greetings to the local overseas Chinese on behalf of Ambassador Wang Lutong, and introduced a series of new initiatives on consular service. He encouraged the local overseas Chinese and the Chinese associations to work together to reinforce the friendly relations between China and New Zealand, and pay unremitting efforts to create harmonious development environment for overseas Chinese.
