Notice on Walk-in Without Appointment Visa Application Service

2023-10-23 14:23

Effective from 23 October 2023, the Chinese Diplomatic and Consular Missions in New Zealand will provide walk-in visa application services. This change aims to facilitate people-to-people exchanges between China and New Zealand.

In order to optimise the Chinese visa application procedure, the Chinese Diplomatic and Consular Missions in New Zealand advise all applicants to read the following:

At present, due to technical reasons, the Chinese Embassy in New Zealand uses a different online visa application system from that of the Chinese Consulate-General in Auckland and the Chinese Consulate-General Christchurch. Applicants are advised to refer to the guidelines specific to their consular jurisdiction.

Note: Applicants are required to complete the online form using the "Chinese Visa Online Form" system at least one working day prior to visiting the Chinese Embassy in New Zealand for visa application processing.

Chinese Consulate-General in Auckland Visa Application Guideline:

Note: Before visiting the visa office for visa application processing, applicants should ensure they have passed the initial online review.

Chinese Consulate-General in Christchurch Visa Application Guideline:

http://christchurch.china-consulate.gov.cn/chn/lsfws/bzxz1/qz/

Note: Before visiting visa office to submit the  passport, applicants should ensure that their online application  has been approved.

Appointments already made for October 23 and a later date will remain valid. Those who have previously secured an appointment will be given priority for their visa applications.

A surge of applicants may cause prolonged waiting time at the initial period of appointment-free arrangement. Applicants are advised to arrange their time reasonably for submission according to their travel itinerary. Inquiries on required documents and visas are preferably sent via email for the time being.

Please note that submitting your visa application too early may result in the visa expiring earlier than desired. It is therefore recommended that applicants submit visa applications around one month before their intended entry into China.
